This 10-story, 1923 Neo-Georgian, Landmark District building was originally designed by famed Beaux-Arts architects, Carrere & Hastings. Over the years, the lobby and common areas had fallen into disrepair and Katz Architecture was hired to address the deficiencies and restore some of the building’s original grandeur. The project included restoration, renovation and project management services for a variety of modifications at the entrance, lobby and rear yard.

Lobby work entailed restoration of existing details, design of new mailbox area, new lighting and finishes, design of new metal entry doors and restoration of entrance exterior. At the rear yard, where the building wanted to create an exterior recreational space, the work included design and installation of a new structural concrete retaining wall, design of exterior drainage, a new stone deck and design of new exterior access stair.
